The position of Category Management Analyst forms a part of the Investment & Procurement within Corporate Services.
Investment and Procurement Branch provides strategic advice and professional services to the business and our Ministers, creating value by improving performance and sustainability across the DJPR portfolios in line with its objectives.
We promote integrity and ensure policies, processes and systems align with the principles of professional standards and codes of good practice. To fulfil our role in ensuring Victoria's strong economic performance by growing industries and regions, it is imperative we are deeply networked, service-orientated and highly collaborative.
Reporting to the Category Lead, the Category Management Analyst is accountable for contributing to and supporting the Category Manager to provide direction for categories under management, including supply market management and development, strategic planning and execution, and contract and risk management activities to meet business needs. In addition, they are responsible for understanding the supply chain for the category and contributing and supporting the category strategy that will generate and sustain the most value for the Department.

The key accountabilities of the role will include:

* Contribute to the vision and objectives for the respective category
* Maximise value for money through contributing to the identification and prioritisation of initiatives to achieve the category vision and objectives
* Support and input to category plans (incl. important sub-category plans) and sourcing strategies to increase value for money and to meet business objectives
* Contribute and support contract formation and scoping of strategic and high value/risk contracts to ensure adherence to DJPR policies and processes, and state legislation
* Contribute to the review of supplier contract terms and conditions and support the Category Manager in negotiating contract terms and conditions for strategic and high value/risk contracts, making the necessary required variations and updates
