Position Summary:
The Strategic Advisers, Covid-19 Public Health Division, provide high level strategic support and advice to the Deputy Secretaries in the Covid-19 Response Division. The positions will collaborate across the Covid-19 Public Health Division, with department executives and other senior staff, the Minister's office, relevant policy and program areas, and key external stakeholders to inform strategic options to achieve outcomes aligned with government policies and priorities.
These roles require very strong leadership skills, strategic acumen, highly-developed conceptual and analytic skills, excellent communication and writing skills, flexibility and ability to work under pressure, and a thorough knowledge of government processes.

* Support and advise the Deputy Secretaries of current and emerging issues in collaboration with relevant Leadership Teams and provide expert strategic advice on a range of issues.
* Manage/coordinate governance functions in the relevant stream.
* Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and provide relevant information and advice about the stream's direction, issues, identified risks and requirements to ensure appropriate information flow.
* Prepare and oversee the preparation of advice and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders, including executive management, stakeholders and Ministerial offices, conveying complex concepts and information.
* Contribute to effective project performance monitoring and continuous improvement processes in relation to government policies, objectives, priorities and reporting requirements.
* Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
* Demonstrate how the actions and outcomes of this role and work unit impact clients and the department's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services.
