APS4 Executive Assistant. Canberra City Location. 6 month contract with possible extension.

Your new company
This large government department is in Central Canberra. The department has a focus on developing policies and procedures to enhance Australia. Specializing in world class research, analysis and advice to inform strategic policy and decision making.

Your new role
Your new role as Executive Assistant will be supporting the Assistant Secretary. Your day to day duties include:

  • Managing administrative arrangements for the Assistant Secretary, the branch or project against which you are assigned:
  • Provision of secretariat services including preparation, coordination and distribution of meeting papers and minute taking for meetings
  • Diary management, arranging travel and monitoring and managing emails
  • Coordinating and tracking ministerial and secretary workflow for the branch
  • Prioritising and tracking tasks (track reports, correspondence and input)
  • Managing/reconciling branch/project finances as required by the Assistant Secretary

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will be required to have previous experience as an APS Executive Assistant. Demonstrating a high level of attention to detail and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills while maintaining a strong work ethic and deliver on priorities. You must be an Australian citizen and possess or be willing to go through the process to obtain and maintain a Baseline personnel security clearance.
