About the role: Test Analyst Role – Retail Stores team

We are looking for an individual that is passionate about testing with very little to 2 years’ experience to join 1 other tester on our 7-person development team, welcoming applicants wishing to grow their career in software testing. Working with this small but highly effective team you will help deliver new project work, while also supporting several productionized retail systems across Australia, the UK and UAE.

Our team practices agile methodology - both Kanban and Scrum -including sound quality hygiene practices throughout the entire software development lifecycle.

The role

  • Work closely with the team and stakeholders to define requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Author test plans and test scripts; including choosing appropriate scripting styles
  • Execute tests and appropriately record results (Cashies’ test management tool is Zephyr)
  • Possess the ability to assess severity and priority of issues detected, and escalate issues and risks accordingly
  • Raise and retest defects adhering to the current defect process
  • Liaise with both the team and stakeholders to achieve user sign-off to promote releases to production
  • Actively advocate for quality best practices across the whole SDLC
  • Know when to apply the appropriate test type, test level and test technique to the work you are undertaking and understand how they are different
  • Use JIRA + Confluence to track your work and progress and to document processes
  • Undertake system/functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing, technical testing, production verification testing, and occasional end-to-end testing with other integrated projects

Required skills/experience

  • 0-2 years as a Test Analyst
  • Demonstrated understanding of quality best practices and procedures
  • Able to demonstrate the advantage of a test management tool
  • Possess strong diagnostic, analytical and problem-solving skills applying specific attention to detail and quality.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Possess the ability to frequently context switch and multitask across small and large projects and across our various systems
  • Possess assertiveness to constantly ask questions to unblock self
  • Possess an aptitude for learning

Favourable skills/experience:

  • ISTQB foundation level certificate or ready to enrol
  • Working knowledge of any of the following tools used by our team is desirable; Team City, Appveyor, Linqpad, Github, Postman, MS Azure, SumoLogic, Webex or MS Teams, Visual Studio, Powershell, SQL Server management Studio
  • C# and/or SQL querying languages
