Dairy Australia is seeking a marketing coordinator with 2+ years’ experience to join the consumer marketing team. The candidate will lead the delivery of the Australian Grand Dairy Awards (AGDA), support consumer marketing campaigns and coordinate the development of campaign communication plans to industry stakeholders.

An Australian Grand Dairy Award represents quality, excellence and innovation in Australian dairy produce. Held annually, these awards recognise the finest dairy and cheese products from around Australia and celebrate the inspiring stories behind the winning finalist and champion products.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a part in one of Dairy Australia’s key calendar events. This position also allows the opportunity to flourish in a supporting and high-achieving team.

The key responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):

Organising the Australian Grand Dairy Awards (prestigious event held annually)

  • Develop the AGDA awards implementation plan
  • Develop, manage and review state-based dairy produce competition sponsorships, linked with the awards
  • Coordinate the awards entry system including attracting entries, data entry and coordination of the awards judging
  • Lead the contact and communication with qualifying competitions, producers, judges, sponsors and industry
  • Maintain and report on the associated budget according to assigned budget level
  • Review overall AGDA program and make recommendations for continuous improvement based on feedback and evaluation
  • Develop a planned approach for the awards event - including Booking event space, hiring florists, food stylists, liaising with event staff to incorporate AGDA winners’ produce into the menu, liaising with the PR agency to book influencers, guest list, and finding new and exciting food activations to highlight AGDA winners’ produce
  • Develop design briefs and liaise with internal design team to develop event collateral including invitations, product name cards, signage
  • Develop briefs and manage external suppliers, such as awards stewards, event suppliers and graphic designers

Stakeholder engagement

  • Lead the development of campaign communication plans to industry stakeholders including farmers, processors, and staff
  • Implement metrics to measure the effectiveness of communication plans and make recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Manage the production of the marketing e-newsletters, including content coordination and production, database management and distribution
  • Coordinate development of content for key stakeholder channels

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Degree level qualification in marketing or communications
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in marketing / communications
  • Food industry marketing experience or knowledge preferred

Key Selection criteria:

  • Experience in planning and delivering marketing programs (project management skills)
  • Experience in planning and executing events
  • Strong stakeholder engagement experience and liaising with different suppliers
  • Degree level qualification in marketing or communications
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in marketing / communications role, liaising with agencies and developing campaign and or design briefs
  • Food industry marketing experience, knowledge and passion preferred
