How will I help?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Lead to join Westpac’s Group Technology Business Unit working across two teams in the Consumer Banking service management space, Digital and Branch/Call Centres technology. This person will play an important role in technically reviewing project solutions, and ensuring sustainable supportable solutions and processes are put in place. The successful person will have the influence of tuning systems such as Westpac Online Banking and coming up with technical continuous improvement initiatives to ensure and maintain future system stability and improved performance. The role will have visibility to emerging technology in both areas.

You will be involved in the following responsibilities:

  • Provide expert technical and/or domain expertise to GroupTech Consumer Service Management teams, covering all aspects of the system within a specific sub-domain or domain context.
  • Contribute to high level and detailed technical solution definition and design to business requirements.
  • Performance and Capacity management.
  • Provide technical input on integration design and maintenance requirements.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of applications throughout life-cycle and provide technical input to the planning of future application and maintenance requirements.

What do I need?

To be successful in this Infrastructure Technical Lead role, you will have the following skills:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a technical lead role within a medium to large institution
  • Experience working in the financial industry preferably banking.
  • Experience with systems development, support and maintenance and experience with systems integration.
  • Solid knowledge of physical infrastructure, networking, telephony, virtual server and virtual client workings including configuration, performance management and monitoring of such systems
  • Performance and Capacity management skills and experience is desired.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced analysis, problem solving, troubleshooting and consultative skills
