Position

We have an opportunity for a Senior Engineering Manager to join Quintas Energy’s Technical Department, on a full-time position based in Brisbane. The successful candidate will form part of a team dedicated to the Asset and Construction Management of Renewable Energy Projects in Australia and will report to the Country Manager - Australia.

The role will be exclusively supporting the Australian Portfolio of Companies that we manage on behalf of our Clients. The Companies go through the entire life cycle of a Renewable Energy project – Development, Construction and long -term operations (approximately 30 years). 


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Management of the Construction of Utility-scale projects from a Technical and Commercial perspective including managing the AEMO registration process, EPC, and NSP Contracts and providing updated cashflow forecasts and be responsible for reporting of issues to the Client.
  • Ensure compliance of the Renewable Energy installations with their obligations arising from project contracts and permits.
  • Resolve incidents of the projects, taking the appropriate actions, including detailed reporting; liaise with the client’s where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all contracts on which a solar farm depends for its correct functioning (operation & maintenance, EPC contracts, leases, security contracts);
  • Ensuring on-going compliance with all law, legislative requirements, federal and state legislation in relation to the operation of the Renewable Energy assets.
  • Management of the Operational Control Room and ensure up to date protocols and procedures are adhered to ensure NER compliance.
  • Provide periodic accurate reporting for assigned clients or sites.
  • Managing and maintaining good relationships with authorities, NSP’s, AEMO the community and the owners.
  • Developing Scope of Works for AM and supervision of the AM services for the Australian portfolio.
  • Understand your portfolio’s Scope of Work so that you can verify that Service Level Standards are being maintained
  • Coordinate with your colleagues from the other departments and from headquarters in Spain; procure strong teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • At least 5 years’ post graduate experience with not less than 3 years working in the Renewable Energy sector
  • Significant O&M, asset management, construction and/or consulting experience, preferably in the renewable energy sector in Australia
  • Experience in NEM Operations and AEMO rules is advantageous
  • Utility-scale solar management experience desired

Specific skills

Quintas Energy is looking for a Senior Manager with strong communication and negotiation skills. You will be supported by an experienced team of renewable energy engineers, lawyers and accountants with whom you will build strong technical and commercial plans to achieve our clients’ strategic objectives. You will be familiar with ISO:55001 asset management standards and you will have a strong professional instinct for optimising asset value and extending asset life.

  • You will understand your portfolio’s Scope of Work so that you can verify that Service Level Standards are being maintained.
  • In line with the above you will work to achieve portfolio’s strategic objectives including: Increasing revenues and PR, reducing costs and reducing risks
  • Overseeing performance in your portfolio of their principal systems – PV, security, SCADA; monthly validation of KPIs. Ensure the Quality and Completeness of all data issued to your client in accordance with Quintas Energy standards.
  • Incident management including supervision of remedies, impact analysis, evaluation of Material Damages & Business Interruption costs, liabilities. Supervision of the management of minor incidents across the portfolio. Monitor and measure all incidents taking all appropriate action to close them satisfactorily with detailed reporting.
  • Coordination with legal and financial areas in all processes which require coordinated management.
  • Supervision of contractor performance, assessment of the O&M contractor's compliance with contractual obligations, compliance with good/best industry practice, work routines, relevant actions, omissions, delays, errors and negligence. Quarterly meetings with Operators at senior level.
  • Assistance to your Managers in the development of their duties.
