Your role will be to embed our new strategy by working across the Westpac Group – engaging with a wide stakeholder group including Senior Leaders, People Leaders and employees. Working in a small team - you’ll get involved in shaping our workplace of the future, partnering with internal and external experts in diversity and inclusion, and you’ll also help ensure we’re meeting our compliance and reporting obligations

How will I help?

Your role will be to embed our new strategy by working across the Westpac Group – engaging with a wide stakeholder group including Senior Leaders, People Leaders and employees. Working in a small team - you’ll get involved in shaping our workplace of the future, partnering with internal and external experts in diversity and inclusion, and you’ll also help ensure we’re meeting our compliance and reporting obligations.

Key responsibilities include;

Engage and Inspire;

  • Consult across the Group to influence and drive outcomes specifically related to Inclusion and Diversity (I&D)
  • Leverage key internal relationships to drive business unit participation in key Group-Wide I&D Programs
  • Engage with the Business, employee action groups and key stakeholders to provide consultation for key I&D initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Westpac Access and Inclusion team to deliver on our Accessibility Action Plan
  • Articulate employee stories and situations through great communications that inspire others to become more inclusive

Analyse and report

  • Manage and deliver key internal and external reporting requirements
  • Deliver compliance reporting on I&D topics e.g. gender equality to the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA)
  • Identify and analyse Inclusion and Diversity programs to measure impact and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Ensure all data is recorded in accordance with the group’s policies on data protection, and that all maintained records are identifiable and accessible for internal audit purposes
  • Assist with preparation of Business Unit Diversity Council Papers, General Manager briefings, Executive presentations and Board papers

Challenge and innovate

  • Work with stakeholders to identify obstacles to inclusion, and work to identify opportunities to resolve.
  • Champion a ‘safe to speak up’ culture, particularly around bullying and harassment.
  • Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to identify best practice innovations and programs to support our I&D Strategy.

What do I need?

  • Excellent Communication Skills (both written and verbal) preferably with experience in corporate governance management such as preparation of Board Papers and External Compliance Reporting
  • Strong Stakeholder Engagement skills with an ability to establish, maintain and influence across all levels of the organisation
  • Strong campaign and project management skills
  • Ability to execute storytelling to enable change by profiling employees across the various dimensions of diversity
  • Highly developed analytical skills
  • Driven to deliver - proven ability to deliver the best possible results for the organisation; and shows determination, resourcefulness and a sense of purpose in achieving this
  • Previous experience in Inclusion & Diversity or similar roles preferred
