Independent Living Specialists (ILS) is the largest physiotherapy and home care equipment supplier in Australia with 32 retail stores, 9 warehouses and 250+ staff nationally leading the way in our industry. We supply directly to the public, nursing home and aged care facilities and hospitals.

ILS has an exciting Procurement Manager position located in Erina, NSW to join our busy procurement team.

The successful candidate will be accountable for planning, organising, coordinating and managing the purchasing and procurement of all our products sold through our online and in-store retail avenues; in addition to products used by our occupational therapists in the provision of services that ILS offers.

Our ideal candidate will also be flexible in their approach to work, possess a strong team and work ethic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage multiple end-to-end complex sourcing initiatives to identify new products and suppliers to add to our product list;
  • Lead or play an influential role in the transition and implementation of new commercial/supplier arrangements to ensure minimal disruption to the business;
  • Conduct analysis of relevant product reviews and their market trends;
  • Clearly and effectively communicate market trends and recommendations to the Head of Procurement and other senior stakeholders within the business in relation to new and existing products;
  • Undertaking contract management reviews with preferred suppliers to manage performance, identify areas of innovation and develop continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Assisting in the development of a framework for contract management including payment of invoices, measurement and reporting of service levels, and purchase order approval;
  • Set up and maintain a purchasing budget & cost-reporting system covering all procured products; and
  • Support the supply and distribution team where needed.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications required:

  • Analytical skills and an eye for detail.
  • Educational qualification in business and/or Computer Science.
  • 5 years’ practical experience in a related procurement position.
  • Professional presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and take ownership and accountability.
  • Strong internal customer and supplier negotiation skills.
  • Strong operational, financial and resource planning skills.
  • Experience in stock management, purchasing, vendor/ supplier management.
  • Strong supplier management.
  • Proven relationship building and negotiation experience.
  • Understanding of procurement policies and contractual implications.
  • Experience in the medical devices industry will be highly regarded.
