About The Role

We are looking for a Principal Advisor – Applications Modernisation, to facilitate the modernisation of the entire applications portfolio. Working across application product teams and serving as the primary interface between operations and project/programme teams to make a step change improvement in the applications maturity. The role will facilitate application rationalisation and consolidation throughout the portfolio.

Reporting to the Manager Business Applications and working in collaborative and exciting environment within our global IS&T Operations team, you will
  • Prioritise the operations modernisation strategy of IS&T in the global applications space – with a desired outcome of reduced risk, reduced cost, increased performance and/or improved business value
  • Leverage the existing commercial and contractual structures to accelerate the modernisation of the business critical applications in the IS&T portfolio – with a focus on Azure Cloud
  • Advance applications rationalisation and consolidation, reduce the global applications portfolio by a min of 10% year on year to eliminate waste, reduce complexity, and improve the risk/cyber position
  • Serve as the primary interface, subject matter expert, lead contact point between Operations and Projects for major improvement works in the applications domain
  • Lead outcomes across application products teams to leverage synergies and reuse improvement successes, methodologies and principles from across the portfolio.
  • Facilitate innovation and improvements in collaboration with the IS&T Enterprise Architecture group – serve as the Operations SME and strategist in any applications operational decisions


What You’ll Bring
  • Applications Architecture experience particularly in cloud - Azure
  • Aps Development methodologies experience
  • An ITIL qualification
  • Worked in a DevOps, Agile, Rapid Delivery environment
  • Experience in business case development working with key stakeholders
  • Managed a signification number of IS&T projects ideally using Agile methodologies
  • Leadership experience
  • Budgeting and planning skills
  • Influencing skills
  • Mining Value Chain and/or Functional knowledge
  • Vendor/Contractor Management
