Eden Ritchie is currently searching for an experienced Senior Procurement Officer to work within a State Government department for an initial 2-month contract with possible extension, the role is located in Brisbane’s CBD

Reporting to the Procurement Manager and working within the team you will provide business wide support for any Procurement and Contracting activities within the department. This role works across the business and manages both General Goods and Services and ICT based Procurement activities and Contract Management.

As the Procurement Officer you will:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of Procurement and Contract Management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with stakeholders within the business
  • Have ability to work agilely and effectively balancing procurement activities prioritises within the team and with stakeholders.
  • Effective communication skills when defining procurement requirement with stakeholders and having confidence to challenge and question.
  • Will be expected to run end to end procurement processes and operate effectively with business stakeholders and suppliers at all stages.
  • Will be working closely with the Manager of the department’s Procurement Team, which the role reports to. However, will be expected to support other more junior team members as required.
  • Government experience would be well regarded, but not critical for this role

Demonstrated experience in the following:

As the Senior Procurement and Contracts Officer, you will oversee the and deliver sourcing and contract management activities across the departmental portfolio.

  • Manage procurement activities to ensure best practice, including provision of expert advice on specifications, evaluating offers, contract management and/or administration, supply market analysis and other general procurement activities.
  • Lead by example in delivering highly complex and/or sensitive procurement services for the department, in line with whole of government procurement strategy and governance frameworks.
  • Provide assistance in the development of and support procurement services strategy, governance frameworks and plans in line with strategic outcomes defined by the department and/or government.
  • Manage contracts through post-award lifecycle as the single point of contact for suppliers on all contract matters.
  • Establish and maintain operational practices for monitoring, reporting, and strategy identification of contract performance and compliance at agency-wide, category and whole-of-Government perspectives.
  • Liaise with customers to understand their “local/operational” requirements and recommend convincing solutions that support whole of Government and agency aligned goals.
  • Assist in building the procurement capability of staff by developing the knowledge and skills of team members and key stakeholders.
