How will I help?

Exciting Opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our Group Customer Assist Team within Group Operations. The Senior Project Manager role is a critical role to lead and manage project activities that deliver business and technology solutions, enabling Westpac to achieve its strategic goals, business benefits and outcomes.

You will apply your extensive experience in Project Management and banking operations to optimise the delivery of key operational initiatives, embed strong risk and delivery disciplines whilst , driving process improvements and delivering great customer and agent outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management – defining, scoping and translating the strategy into clear project milestones and deliverables that can be measured and tracked
  • Project and program governance - comply with the group governance processes, ensure stakeholders have a clear understanding of their role in delivery and that the required decision making, and escalation processes are in place
  • Continuous Improvement – continually revising, reviewing and making amendments in line with business needs and requirements
  • Managing risk and issues in line with project plan, as well as understanding cost controls and financial management

What do I need?

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be a self-starter who will take action to ensure obligations are met, holding yourself and others accountable for delivery and achieving key milestones. With proven experience in governance and leadership in medium to large projects, you will be able to drive delivery outcomes and proactively manage risks and issues associated with services or delivery in the project.

You will bring with you demonstrated experience within Project Management. You will be a robust communicator, know the importance of celebrating success, driving achievement, and building effective relationships. Bringing with you out of the box thinking, you will take accountability and understand that partner engagement is highly critical to the success of the team.

As Well As This You Will Have
  • Proven track record in successfully leading and managing medium/large projects
  • Proven experience in leading and managing large, cross functional and multi-site teams through major change and implementing continuous improvement programs and projects
  • Deep financial acumen in an operational environment
  • Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory environments and experience in managing implications
  • Proven experience in effectively managing risk, business controls and monitoring as well as driving governance, accountability and delivery culture
  • Strategic perspective and innovative thinking.
