Golder has an opportunity for a Mining Closure Planner preferably with open pit and underground experience to join the Mine Engineering and Stability team on a full-time in our Brisbane office. This position offers the opportunity to apply your technical knowledge and experience on a range of challenging projects whilst working alongside leading industry experts who will mentor and guide you; and develop your career within a dynamic and employee-owned professional consulting company that strives for technical excellence.Key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Contributing to and implementing the mine closure strategy;
  • Providing project or technical direction, overseeing and coordinating large projects, with a key focus on mine closure planning;
  • Project managing both locally and regionally, which may include multi-disciplinary projects and collaboration with interstate teams;
  • Strengthening Golder's market position by proactively seeking internal and external opportunities;
  • Providing technical expertise and high quality service to clients within budget and time constraints;
  • Mentoring junior staff to develop mine closure capability for Golder as a whole;
  • Identifying safety hazards, report OH&S incidents and conduct all work in a safe manner;
  • Conducting all work to satisfy all company, client and government conditions, policies, procedures, regulations and standards; and
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, coupled with previous consulting experience will be highly regarded;
  • Experience in operations and technical experience in open pit and underground mining;
  • Demonstrated experience as a user in mining software packages: experience with use of Deswik, Datamine, Vulcan, Surpac and Whittle would be highly regarded; and
  • Excellent communication skills, strong report writing skills and solid analytical and problem-solving ability with high attention to detail.
