This exciting opportunity is available to lead a passionate team at the Burnett Mary Regional Group (BMRG) based in beautiful Bargara, Queensland.

The BMRG is the peak body for natural resource management within the Burnett Mary region. Established in 2001, we are one of 54 national not-for-profit regional bodies providing an essential link between the community and various programs procured by Government and other funding sources. As a self-motivated, continuous improvement orientated individual with exceptional partnership skills you will thrive in this busy and rewarding role.

The Partnerships and Strategy Manager will play a significant role in supporting BMRG’s efforts to reach its goal to protect and enhance the agricultural and natural environment of the Burnett Mary region for future generations. The role is a full-time position and will be a key member of our Senior Management Team.

What will you be doing?

  • Develop plans to align with organisational objectives that drive improvements & internal processes
  • Identify threats and opportunities
  • Strategic analysis of market trends and financial market
  • Analyse operational effectiveness and process for partner engagement
  • Provide leadership and direction to a small team of partnership and strategy professionals keen to develop and grow.
  • Provide partnership strategic advice and engagement plans for stakeholder engagement in the region, with a focus on engagement with First Nations Peoples and Traditional Owner groups.
  • Lead the BMRG’s engagement with landholders, pastoralists, and Landcare groups in partnership with other BMRG teams.
  • Support the development of regional economic development activities, aligned to government and other stakeholder activities in the region.
  • Support the strategic plan for BMRG and align activities with regional NRM and government plans as appropriate.
What are we looking for?
  • Tertiary qualifications in a Social Science or Humanities, or a related discipline.
  • Ideally you will have experience working with Traditional Owner and First Nations People in Australia.
  • Someone who has broad experience and is passionate about agriculture, the environment and making a positive impact in communities is welcome to apply
