RACV Automotive Services provides far more than just Emergency Roadside Assistance services to members. Part of Motoring and Mobility, Automotive Services manages the practical delivery of all thing’s automobile related to RACV members, customers and partners including a drive school program.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for two Senior Instructors to join the team and provide critical support to the RACV Drive School to ensure professional delivery of Drive School products while ensuring the member experience complies with our service standards for the Drive School.

A day in the life

As Senior Instructors, you are key resources in monitoring and managing these services to ensure that they are being delivered in a manner that is compliant with internal and external requirements, in an efficient, low risk and cost-effective manner, that enables our network to grow.

The role will interface with a number of internal and external stakeholders in focusing on the continuous operational improvement and strategic development of the RACV Drive School.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering high quality lessons and/or driving tests to RACV Drive School customers in key areas of the Metro Melbourne, Geelong and other areas as required.
  • Mentoring, coaching, developing, and assessing new industry entrants and existing licensees.
  • Developing and monitoring individualized professional development plans for all licensees to ensure they are approved to work independently.
  • Assisting with the creation and implementation of benchmarking of volumes, KPI’s and setting of service standards for the Drive School.
  • Delivering periodic vehicle/instructor audits (compliance, health and safety, skills, incidents etc.)
  • Conduct stakeholder presentations (where required).

About You

You will be self-motivated, result driven and has the ability to work autonomously.

You are someone who thrives on new challenges and has the passion for driver training and motoring whilst contributing to a vibrant environment by being energetic and engaged in everything you do.

Your strong member focus, communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to write clear and succinct reports with high attention to detail as well as being able to influence/negotiate and professionally present RACV image both internally and externally.

As part of this process, we’ll help you grow your knowledge of customer experience and stakeholder relations in an industry-leading environment.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Full driver’s license
  • 5+ years’ experience as a qualified Driving Instructor (manual and auto)
  • Current CPVV DIA
  • Certificate IV in Motor Vehicle Instruction (or other as relevant)
  • Working with Children Certificate
  • Excellent road law knowledge
  • Clear statutory checks (Working with children, police check and driving history)
  • Strong working knowledge of common business software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Presentation delivery experience (desirable)
  • Previous experience in compliance management of large and remote team (desirable)
