Full Job Description
Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council are seeking an enthusiastic individual that enjoys the outdoors to join the Utilities team. The successful candidate will be required to support the Team Leader with quarterly meter reading in the Council area, repairs and replacements of meters ensuring that it is done in a timely and accurate manner. This role will support other teams in the Utilities team in the period when meter reading is not being undertaken.

This position is most suited to those who like the challenge of a continually changing work environment and enjoys walking!

Key Accountabilities

Within the area of responsibility, this role is required to:
Undertake a variety of manual labouring tasks within one or more of following fields of work:
Drainage construction and/or maintenance.
Concrete construction and/or maintenance.
Timber construction and/or maintenance.
Water supply operations.
Sewerage operations.
Worksite traffic control.
Waste and recycling operations.
Water meter replacement and reading
Drive or operate, maintain and service Council’s plant.
Participate in Council’s on-call roster as required
Comply with workplace health and safety, risk, environmental and quality (HSEQ) objectives and targets
Contribute constructively to culture of health and safety within the Council.

The employer may direct the employee to carry out such duties that are within the limits of the employee’s skill, competence and training.
