Leidos Australia is the largest commercial supplier of intelligence services to the Australian Government and provides a number of critical systems integration projects to the Department of Defence. We also deliver service management for the Australian Tax Office, supporting 25,000 ATO end users.

Job Description

The primary responsibility of this role is financial analysis supporting program activities including: the annual operating plan (AOP), monthly outlook, month end closing and accruals process, program performance reporting, earned value management reporting, quarterly contract status review and project profitability analysis. This is a key role to consolidate inputs across the program.

Compilation and review of budgets using actual performance, previous budget figures, estimated revenue, expense reports, and other data sources to control funds an provide for proper financial administration
Coordinate multiple financial cost analysis functions, including cost allocation, setting up cost control systems, collecting data, controlling costs and preparing reports that maintain the Company’s cost accounting system
Responsible for administration and reporting of overhead budgets, charge codes and cost allocation
Liaison to the business for indirect cost rates, compliance with Cost Principles
Analyse financial information and prepare financial reports.
Ensure timely and accurate time reporting and expenditure for staff including compliance initiatives and training for employees.
Preparation of presentations for the Business Operations Manager
Review and approval of expenditure within the approved delegation.
Comply with legislation and Company policies, processes and instructions, including those relating to non-discrimination, environment, safety, duty of care, and the quality management system.
Display behaviours that reflect the Company values.
Take reasonable care of your own health and safety, and that of others, follow any reasonable instruction given by Leidos, and report any concern(s) which may give rise to danger, and/or any injury which may occur in the workplace.

Coupled with your education and practical experience, you will demonstrate a pro-active approach with the ability to understand the business, identify issues and develop relationships to achieve the outcomes of Leidos Australia.

Extensive experience working in a FP&A environment ensuring budget development, financial control, forecasting and proposal support.
Prior experience working with sales teams and project teams is desirable
Experience in working with large multinational corporate experience is desirable
Significant experience in working with and applying industry practices, principles, concepts, techniques and standards
Familiarity with and experience using financial systems such as Oracle Financials, Hyperion, CostPoint, Business Objects.
Extensive experience in multiple project analysis and management, financial analysis, financial reporting and forecasting, accounting, billing and budgeting
Strong financial and analytic background


Detailed understanding of principles, practices, standards and methodologies relating to budget administration and expense control
Excellent communication skills including negotiation and influencing skills and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across all levels
Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail
High level of initiative in developing and improving systems and procedures
Outcomes focused
Ability to investigate and analyse information and to draw conclusions
Ability to manage multiple, concurrent tasks, which have competing demands
Advanced problem solving skills
Ability to work in a team environment and distributed/virtual environment


Degree in a related discipline (i.e. commercial / finance) (from a recognised institution) and/or demonstrated significant experience in a similar role and industry is essential. CPA/CA desirable.

Additional Information

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen, preferably hold a current baseline security clearance or be able to obtain one.
