The Role
The Executive Assistant to the Special Operations Commander will be required to undertake duties as outlined below:

Perform ‘front of office' support functions, including greeting visitors, receiving and responding to phone calls, emails, general correspondence and maintaining records systems.
Deliver executive support including managing appointment diary and meeting arrangements and utilise information available to support the preparation of briefing packs, reports and papers for senior Defence meetings.
Arrange, coordinate and reconcile domestic and international travel for the Special Operations Commander and his immediate team and assist in providing finance support, in line with Defence policy.

About our Team
The Executive Assistant will work in a small, dynamic team providing intimate administrative support to a Senior Military Officer (APS Band 2 equivalent) and executive team (seven) on a broad range of issues.The day to day supervisor of the Executive Assistant is the Military Assistant (APS EL1 equivalent) supported by the Aide de Camp (APS 5 equivalent). Together, the Military Assistant, Executive Assistant and Aide de Camp form the nucleus of support to the Special Operations Commander.

More broadly, the Executive Assistant supports the Special Operations Commander’s interactions across the Department of Defence, other Government Departments and into the Federal Government at the Band 2, Band 3 and Ministerial level.

As an active member of the International Special Forces community, the Executive Assistant, supported by the Military Assistant and Aide de Camp, supports the Special Operations Commander’s interactions across the global Special Forces network.
