JOB DESCRIPTION

Business Need / Purpose of Role:

The HPGR Technician is responsible to carry out repairs and maintenance on Weir HPGR and other equipment on customer sites and the workshop as both a fitter and a hands on site service technician. The HPGR Technician/Fitter is responsible for quality, lean, administration and achieving production levels to support product sales within cost and efficiency KPI's, with regards to the work performed.
This position will be working with the Senior HPGR supervisor and HPGR service management on various business objectives including but not limited to onsite safety, onsite maintenance, process improvement, lean principles and special projects.
The HPGR technician is responsible to ensure safety and quality standards are met, provide technical guidance and ensure that administrative activities are completed.


Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities

* Work with the HPGR team at the Perth facility to establish and implement a sustainable growth of the allocated HPGR business unit.
* Provide service and customer support during site visits
* Manage all on site installation, repair maintenance and test tasks as per scopes of work provided
* Recommend improvements to the HPGR Service Manager for the Customer's equipment that will reduce their TOC
* Develop strong relationships with key customers to ensure expectations are being met and remedial action taken to address issues.
* Exhibit a collaborative approach to ensure that customer needs are prioritised and satisfied to meet set service levels.
* Contribute to strategic planning of site service and installations.
* Provide technical advice to the Site Service Supervisor for service and components for contracts.
* Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills
* All other duties as requested by the HPGR Supervisor
* Ensure that preventative maintenance is conducted to eliminate or reduce plant downtime.
* Show flexibility under urgent or breakdown conditions in order to service customer requirements
* Attend all operational and workshop floor meetings as required.
* Liaise with the appropriate Area Managers to ensure that the installation and commissioning activities are being undertaken in a timely and cost effective manner for all works
