The Townsville Hospital and Health Service is the largest tertiary health service in northern Australia; we are responsible for the delivery of healthcare services, education and research within a region covering over 149,500km with a population of approximately 250,000 people.

Eventide Residential Aged Care Facility is a Queensland Health managed aged care service within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service and is located at Charters Towers. The facility provides care for 110 residents with 26 places for dementia care, 10 places for psycho-geriatric care and 74 places for older persons who require care due to fragility and complex care needs.

Eventide RACF provides a multidisciplinary approach to care delivery with a focus on resident's rights and choices. Residents (as able), relatives, carers and other health professionals are involved in the individual care planning process and encouraged to play an active role in the decision-making process. With the introduction of the aged care nursing ratios, all nursing staff will work together to provide resident focused quality nursing care that meets the aged care quality standards and will assist in the provision of leisure and recreational activities and interactions.

The Enrolled Nurse Advanced Skills (ENAS) assists in the delivery of competent and quality nursing care under the direction of senior nursing staff whilst assisting in the achievement of service goals. The ENAS holds advanced skills and experience as an enrolled nurse in the aged care setting and utilises clinical skills to provide evidence-based resident -centred care. As an ENAS you will hold a portfolio and will applying your advanced skills and knowledge to effectively develop, provide and evaluate resident care, in consultation with the Registered Nurse (RN). The ENAS is an associate to the RN and provides care under the direction and supervision of the RN and in accordance with the Practice Standards as identified by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board.

Generous remuneration package value up to $82,775 p.a. comprising salary range of $68,169 to $72,335 p.a. (Nurse Grade 4), 17.5% leave loading, 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation. Other employment benefits may include: professional development, salary sacrificing options, shift and locality allowances, corporate discounts, wellness programs and the EAP.

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Diploma of Nursing or equivalent and current AHPRA registration.
  • Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster.
  • As employment is at a Multipurpose Health Service or Residential Aged Care Facility an Aged Care Pre Employment Screening will be required: Under section 96-1 of the Aged Care Act 1997 and the Department of Health Police Certificate Guidelines 2017, appointees to the position will require a current National Police Certificate. Townsville HHS will facilitate applicants obtaining the above check.
  • National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Screening Check – As a Health Care worker in Queensland Health who engages in risk-assessed roles, you must hold a current disability check (Yellow Card or Yellow Card Exemption) or an NDIS Worker Screening Check in accordance with Part 5 of the Disability Services Act 2006 (Qld).
  • Highly Desirable: Evidence of completion of modules related to medication administration and peripheral intravenous therapy.
