About Your Role

As a System Administrator for the Critical Support Service team located in Canberra, Australia, you will maintain, administer, and monitor mission critical infrastructure across multiple environments. This includes the resolving of all incidents and handling service requests from basic administration to supporting new capability development. The role of System Administrator requires an individual with a strong customer focus who can work across multiple customer portfolios, devices, and environments.


Work effectively in a small team to provide second line support to customers. This includes handling service requests and communicating faults and resolutions directly with customers.
Work closely with other Level 2 and level 3 support teams as part of fault diagnosis, escalation and resolution processes.
Administer existing networks and systems, also assisting with the implementation and maintenance of servers and network infrastructure.
Adhere to Asset Management procedures, ensuring assets are fully tracked & information is maintained throughout its lifecycle in a timely fashion.
Perform call resolution to the contractual Service Level Agreement (SLA), monitored by Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
Participate in a rotating shift (0700h - 1500h, and 1100h - 1900h) and on-call roster (outside core working hours).

Skills and experience required

Minimum of at least 2 years of proven experience with administering Microsoft Server / Client environments.
Working knowledge of current Microsoft technologies with sound problem identification and resolution skills.
Knowledge of current LAN and WAN technologies.
Proven experience with multitasking and prioritising workloads.
Proven experience with working in customer focused System Administrator roles.
Proven experience in a System Administrator role supporting large and complex networks.
Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or proven relevant experience.
Hold a current Australian security clearance or be eligible to obtain an Australian security clearance of TOP SECRET-NV2 .
Eligible to obtain authorisation to work with ITAR controlled equipment and technology
Experience supporting critical computing environments preferred.
