The Tasmanian Health Service is seeking interest from suitably qualified applicants for a Clinical Nurse Specialist - MHHOST vacancy.

Salary

$99,736 to $106,036 per annum

Fixed term, full time, day work, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing June 2021 until 30 June 2022

Mental Health Homeless Outreach Support Team - South

Duties

As the senior clinician within a small community based multidisciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies and the senior clinician within a designated service, the Clinical Nurse Specialist - MHHOST will:

  • Provide clinical leadership and undertake specialist clinical care and case management, to ensure the delivery of quality assessments, care and treatment to consumers, families and friends of the Mental Health Homeless Outreach Support Team (MHHOST) based on best practice principles including Recovery Oriented Practice, The Triangle of Care Framework and Trauma Informed Care.
  • Work closely with a range of relevant internal and external stakeholders including members of the broader Acute Care Stream, the Continuing Care Stream, Alcohol and Drug Services, General Practitioners and Community Sector Organisations to deliver improved outcomes and experiences for consumers of the service.
  • Actively participate in service development, quality improvement and professional development initiatives, including developing, implementing, coordinating and evaluating programs and activities to improve client outcomes within a multidisciplinary team.
Essential Requirements
  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess specialist tertiary graduate or post graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification; or completed, prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, an accredited hospital based program that lead to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the United Kingdom.
  • Current Driver's Licence.
  • Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration.
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

a) Crimes of Violence

b) Sex Related Offences

c) Serious Drug Offences

d) Crimes involving dishonesty

e) Serious traffic offences
