Activities and Connections Officer

Work Type: Permanent - Full Time

Our Senior Centre team is looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual to fill the position of Activities and Connections Officer. In this role you will provide support services to the centres 1600 members, user groups and visitors. You will provide a professional service, promote current systems and provide community education services in a community development and “best practice” environment.

You will be responsible for:

  • To expand, develop and provide support of the City’s services to people over the age of 50 years.
  • Develop and support quality centre-based activities and events which build the capacity of the senior’s community.
  • Lead and facilitate programs, activities and events that promote engagement, safety, social inclusion, health and well-being and capacity building for people aged over 50 years.
  • Co-ordinate and support events, partnerships and activities, including but not limited to the monitoring of budgets, sponsorship procurement, risk management and assessment of event success.
To be successful you will have:
  • Qualification (desirable) or progression towards a qualification in a Community Services field.
  • Previous customer service, administrative, cash handling and events/activity experience.
  • High level of communication, organisation and problem solving.
  • Have an exceptional customer service focus.
  • Ability to think creatively and use initiative.

This Full-time Level 4 position attracts a salary range of $68,332 - $73,548 gross per annum dependent on qualifications and experience.
