What you'll be doing

The purpose of these positions is to provide a harm reduction service to injecting drug users and relevant communities to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS and other blood borne viruses. Work with client groups to develop strategies that promote positive alternative lifestyles.

Selection Criteria: * Demonstrated understanding of harm reduction as it relates to injecting drug use.

  • Sound knowledge of HIV/AIDS, hepatitis and sexually transmitted infections.
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively liaise with other health services, community stakeholders and the general public to provide individual and group educations.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Current unrestricted NSW Class C driver's licence.
  • Knowledge of brief intervention work as it relates to NSP.
  • Experience in developing health promotion programs relating to HIV/HEP C.
