Exact Contracting Services has an exciting employment opportunity for a Maintenance / Workshop Superintendent working on Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory.

The Role:
This role will be site based and the successful candidate will work on a fly in/fly out (FIFO), 14 days on, 7 days off roster from Darwin, NT to Groote Eylandt, NT.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this is a hands on role responsible for the safe and cost effective management of maintenance activities and operations.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading from the front and driving our culture and vision to lead the industry through safety;
  • Providing effective leadership and supervision through ‘on the ground’ presence, direction, guidance and feedback to teams and individuals;
  • Effectively managing resources to ensure achievement of maintenance schedules;
  • Driving operational efficiencies;
  • As required, this position may also be responsible for “being on the tools” and carrying out the servicing, repair, and maintenance of the company's mobile plant equipment, as well as fault finding & diagnostics to assist the prevention of break downs or unexpected down time of machinery.
To be successful in the role, you will be able to demonstrate your ability and aptitude in the following key criteria:
  • Heavy Diesel Fitter Trade qualification;
  • Current drivers licence;
  • 5+ years of experience in supervisory/management role;
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi mobile equipment; Kenworth and Mack Trucks and a wide range of ancillary gear;
  • Previous civil/mining industry experience and solid understanding of mobile plant, crushing and drilling operation and maintenance;
  • Experience with and confident using Microsoft Office and maintenance related systems (MEX) etc;
  • Effective planning ability, time management, and prioritisation;
  • Confident communicator with the ability to effectively liaise with other employees, clients, suppliers and sub-contractors;
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude;
  • Desire to work in remote locations; and
  • Have a hands on approach.

Pre-Employment:
All candidates will be required to pass a National Police Clearance (within 3 months), pre-employment medical, and a drug and alcohol screen.
