Senior Policy Officers work across a range of initiatives that support the Victorian training and TAFE system through the following:

  • Managing priority policy and reform projects.
  • Undertaking analysis and leading projects to optimise policy settings.
  • Providing high-level policy advice on complex and emerging issues.
  • Designing policy and program evaluations and reviews to inform policy development.
  • Responding to Victorian Government and national inquiries and commissions.
  • Monitoring and negotiating changes to intergovernmental agreements and national policy settings.
  • Supporting the Minister in communicating with stakeholders about policy and operational issues.
  • Supporting the executive in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to align strategic reforms and strengthen outcomes for VET students, staff and providers.

There are three exciting Senior Policy Officer roles available in Tertiary Education Policy and Performance. This includes two ongoing roles in Managed Market Policy, and a fixed-term position in National VET Reform until 30 June 2022.

Ideal candidates will be highly motivated and astute thinkers, with excellent communication and collaboration skills, and demonstrated experience in policy development, stakeholder engagement and project management.
