Governance and Compliance Officer

Position overview

This is a 0.75 EFT part-time position based in Lakes Entrance.

The purpose of the role is to provide technical governance and administrative support to the organisation ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and Council policies.

What you will need to succeed

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in an appropriate field (e.g. governance, legislation, and/or policy development) or demonstrated experience.
  • Experience in interpreting and analysing legislation, policies and underlying principles to provide technical and administration support.
  • Experience in developing and/or reviewing and implementing systems and documentation to manage legislative obligations and policy framework.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the preparation of briefs that include technical interpretation and analysis.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, and independently within set timeframes, and to engender the trust, confidence and cooperation of internal and external customers to achieve organisational objectives.
