About the Role:

As Application Systems Administrator you will be responsible for the administration of CFA's mission-critical business applications, databases, application servers, web servers and system integration and monitoring tools. Your key focus will be to ensure that CFA applications operate at expected level by managing and implementing upgrades, patches, tuning, change and configuration management, issue and problem management, vendor liaison and second and third level application support. Further detailed responsibilities are found in the Position Description which is accessible as you apply and include:

• Maintaining expert know ledge on CFA's complex application domains, including configuration, infrastructure, privacy, security, interfaces, system dependencies, business processes, support and escalation processes to make sure application services are available and functioning in line with business expectations.
• Maintaining Expert technical know ledge on critical software infrastructure such as SQL databases, Application Servers, Application Containers, System Integration tools, Monitoring and Alerting systems, Search engines, Source control Systems, Automated testing and deployment tools and cloud platforms.
• Engaging with a diverse group of (business, technical, vendor, emergency sector) stakeholders to proactively analyse business needs, challenges, pain points, opportunities for improvements and provide advice and solutions to address issues and business improvements in coordination with the broader ICT and vendor teams.
• Lead and manage installation, configuration and maintenance on-prem and cloud hosted software in accordance with prescribed procedures, schedules and business expectations.
• Administer system interfaces, security configuration, failover and penetration tests, application audits.

About You:

To succeed in this key role, you should hold tertiary qualifications in IT, Computer Science, Communications or Engineering and/or equivalent experience. You will present with a broad background in information technology and application support roles, with demonstrated ability to manage complex application platforms and related software stack with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. You will also possess demonstrable expertise in a range of areas including Microsoft Windows server and desktop operating systems, Database management systems, Office 365 platform, cloud platforms data protection, business continuity, application servers, web servers, search engines, integration technologies, Source controls systems, testing tools, CI/CD tools.

Further requirements include domain knowledge and experience in business systems such as HCMS, Finance, Asset management, LMS, CRM, CMS; experience in ITIL based incident, problem and change management methodologies; understanding of the software development life cycle and methodologies, across multiple technical environments, ensuring a strong technical basis to mentor and lead the Applications Support team.

You will be helped in all of this by your high level of written and verbal communication skills, and sound and demonstrated interpersonal skills.
