Job Description:


Responsible in providing second and third level Network Services support for both production requirements and project delivery support needs.

Link Group requires Senior Network Engineers to manage and maintain our ICT platforms, including all technical landscape design, installation, configuration, deployment, technical security and operation of ICT component.

You will operate with a significant degree of independence and works under the broad guidance of senior staff to deliver quality outcomes and also operate with a high level of autonomy, with decision-making highly dependent on their own judgement.

Key Accountabilities and Main Responsibilities

Strategic Focus

  • Maximising network uptime and performance
  • Identify and assess risk
  • Maintain roadmaps and ensuring infrastructure currency is maintained
  • High quality incident management and problem resolution within role scope
  • Ensure all devices under support are maintained at current patch levels
Operational Management
  • Mentor Operations and Support Team in Mumbai
  • Liaise with other Link Group IT teams to provide network support for existing systems
  • Liaise with 3rd parties for support of vendor provided products and services that constitute part of the Link Group network (i.e. Telecommunications carriers, hardware vendors etc)
  • Provide technical network support for all Link Group business systems and applications
  • Provide technical support to the Link Group business units and the IT Infrastructure team as required
  • Work closely with the Development, Product and Client Facing teams to meet all network infrastructure support requirements.
  • Assist with the resolution management of escalated Severity 1 and 2 issues as required.
  • Create and maintain procedural support documentation
  • Produce monthly network management reports
  • Manage network monitoring tools and processes to ensure all devices are monitored and backed up appropriately
  • Respond to all network incidents within designated SLA's
  • Participate in the on-call roster for 24x7 support
  • Attend required training and maintain appropriate qualifications for the role
  • Regular attendance at management and team meetings
  • Key IT stakeholder/owner of Link Group network infrastructure
Governance and Risk
  • Maintain risk assessment data in compliance system
  • Work on corrective actions and assist with audit as required
  • Ensure audit and compliance protocols are reviewed and complied with
  • Ensure all work adheres to appropriate change management, audit and compliance protocols.
  • Ensure that the business priorities are communicated for all tasks under your management
  • Regular reporting on status of tasks, projects and improvements including issue and risk mitigation solutions, in agreed timeframes.
Experience & Personal Attributes
  • Proven experience in the configuration and maintenance of LAN, WAN and Wireless infrastructure within a multi-vendor environment
  • Demonstrated ability to configure and implement complex network systems
  • Experience in deploying and supporting network technology in a complex, large scale environment.
  • Experience with Cisco routing, switching, IP telephony & wireless technologies
  • Knowledge and experience with a broad range of network vendors equipment including Cisco, Citrix, Fortinet, Riverbed and Checkpoint
  • In depth knowledge and experience of network technologies such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, Ethernet switching and routing, IPsec, SSL VPN
  • Knowledge and experience with Load Balancer technologies, DNS and GSLB
  • Understanding of various WAN technologies
  • Experience in 24x7 mission critical environment, preferably in the financial industry
  • Working knowledge or prior experience with Cloud platforms, such as AWS and Azure
  • Experience in supporting SSL certificate generation, renewals and troubleshooting
  • Experience with Cisco Nexus Virtualisation technologies an advantage
  • Working understanding of Windows Operating Systems including Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows 2008, Windows 2012, Windows 2016, newer
  • Knowledge of Windows Active Directory an advantage
  • 2-5 years of experience in a related role.
  • Understanding of ITIL incorporating incident, problem and change management;
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to a changing environment, team player, detail oriented, logical thinker with a 'can-do' attitude;
  • Ability to identify critical issues and deal with them proactively and independently, or escalate them when required;
  • Ability to concentrate on several areas of work at one time, and prioritise workloads;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to write good documentation and share your knowledge;
  • Understanding of project management methodologies
  • Tertiary qualification in a related field Computer Science, Information Systems or Information Technology.
  • ITIL qualifications
  • At least 5+ years' experience in a similar role
  • Understanding of ISO 27001/2, GS007, COBIT, PMBOK, and ITIL frameworks
  • Technical experience in a similar IT environment
  • Knowledge of current IT trends
  • Excellent troubleshooting capabilities.
