JOB DESCRIPTION

Chandler Macleod are recruiting for exciting opportunities for our client, who require a Hatchery Manager for their busy operation in the Riverina Region of NSW.

This role, which is entry level, will enable you to work closely with Managers of the Hatchery Site. With time you will take on management responsibilities of your own.

You will work in their livestock division of our client, an Australian leader in the production of premium poultry products.

For the right person these are long-term opportunities with one of the region's largest employers with support from the team at Chandler Macleod.

Working alongside the Hatchery Managers, you will learn and implement:

  • Minimum Operating Standards
  • Animal Welfare
  • Quarantine Procedures
  • Workplace Injury Management System
  • Environmental Management System
  • Workplace Health and Safety System
  • Chain of Responsibility Policies and Procedures
Essential Qualifications/Licences
  • Previous experience in livestock or processing environment
  • Current driver's license
  • Developing leadership skills including conflict resolution and problem solving
  • CoR Level 1 TLIP001- Supply chain of responsibility, regulations and workplace procedures
  • Must be Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
Required Skills & Experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Excellent planning skills particularly in relation to staffing at adequate levels, and control of production to meet customer requirements
  • Experience in staff supervision and ability to demonstrate sound leadership qualities
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills related to quality issues with the ability to arrive and implement long term preventative actions
  • Ability to set and work within budgets, manage costs and cost reporting on a weekly basis
  • Knowledge of hatchery operations, including animal welfare will be highly regarded.
