Job Description

The Broker Support Officer is responsible for managing loan applications from 3rd party Mortgage Brokers, which includes:
  • Strong credit assessment knowledge and the ability to carry out a preliminary mortgage loan assessment to ensure applications are within the bank's policy and risk appetite, and meets compliance requirements.
  • A thorough understanding of consumer mortgage lending products, policies and processes.
  • The ability to multi-task and manage a large volume of loan files at differing stages, in a fast-paced environment, whilst meeting SLA's and timeframes.
  • Providing feedback to Brokers on application accuracy and communicating lending decisions.
  • Providing Brokers ongoing communication and support and updating them throughout the life of the transaction;
  • Maintaining ownership of individual files from lodgement to settlement which includes:
  • Loading the mortgage loan application into our Loan Origination and CRM systems.
  • Reviewing application documents for compliance i.e. income, savings and loan statements, property valuations.
  • Ensuring the application meets Beyond Bank's mortgage product and lending policies and preparing the submission to our credit assessment team and lender's mortgage insurer.
  • Calculation of income for loan serviceability. The ability to review and analyse financial statements for self-employed applications will be highly regarded.
  • Instructing our settlements team to prepare loan documents and responding to lending scenarios.
Desired Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position you will have the following skills and experience:
  • Strong mortgage credit assessment abilities
  • Proven current experience in mortgage secured lending
  • Strong understanding of mortgage secured lending credit policies, processes and products
  • A sound understanding of the National Consumer Credit Act
  • Analytical acumen with strong problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Working knowledge of operational and financial institution compliance requirements
  • Well developed communication and problem solving skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work well both independently and within a team environment
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • High-level attention to detail
  • Positive 'Can Do' Attitude
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on building relationships
  • Adaptable with a strong ability to navigate and learn new systems and processes
