The Department of Regional NSW (DRNSW) was formed in April 2020 as a central agency for regional issues and is focused on creating a liveable, inclusive and sustainable New South Wales with thriving natural environments/regions and strong economic prosperity.

The Department of Regional NSW is partnering with Hudson Canberra on a project to identify a number of high performing individuals for critical roles supporting the growth and prosperity of Regional NSW communities. These roles provide an exciting opportunity to truly make a difference for the future sustainability of Regional NSW.

About the Role

The newly established Regional Programs evaluation team will be responsible for shaping and driving evaluation activity for the Department of Regional NSW’s Regional Programs team.

This role will support evaluation activity across more than fifteen growth, recovery (bushfire, drought, COVID-19), youth, tourism and economic development funding programs being delivered across regional NSW and administered by the Regional programs team. Evaluation activities will include the development of evaluation planning, stakeholder engagement, analysis of data and information and the development of evaluation reports.

Critical to the success of this role will be your ability to effectively work with program teams and external service providers to undertake program evaluation activities. Your role will support the delivery of quality and meaningful information and data that enables continuous program improvement and informs future investment in funding programs for the Department.

About you

You are a highly motivated individual with a strong understanding of program delivery and the importance of evaluation. You have experience developing and implementing evaluation plans and activities as part of your role in delivering a program or as an evaluation specialist.

You will have strong communication skills both written and verbal and will be comfortable reviewing and analysing sets of data, program documentation and the results of stakeholder consultation to develop evaluation reports and advice.

You will be enjoy working as part of a small team and have the ability to work independently in a busy environment with competing priorities and projects whilst working with a range of stakeholders.

You will have relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent and/or relevant professional experience and training.
