This position is responsible for leading, guiding and supporting the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District plan for the implementation of cultural and quality initiatives including Essentials of Care and Productive Ward. As a member of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District Nursing and Midwifery Practice and Workforce Unit, the Cultural and Quality Initiatives Facilitator will contribute to the organisation’s strategic priorities, including development of effective workplace cultures, the improvement of practice, fostering a culture of learning and inquiry, building the organisation’s workforce capacity to be responsive to changes in the health service and the provision of effective care. This position will also be responsible for participating in the evaluation of learning opportunities as part of the SESLHD Nursing and Midwifery Cultural and Quality Initiatives.

Selection Criteria

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse/Midwife, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  2. Broad experience in a variety of clinical contexts as a clinician and manager
  3. Demonstrated leadership ability in the implementation and evaluation of workplace culture and quality program(s) for health professionals, including knowledge of practice development and quality improvement methodologies and appreciative enquiry
  4. Demonstrated high level professional communication and inter-personal skills, including facilitation skills and a demonstrable understanding of and commitment to practice development and person centred care
  5. Experience in working within a professional development framework and in the application of person centred approaches to adult learning, including coaching, and small and large group facilitation of learning
  6. Demonstrated ability to work in and contribute to a team which focuses on the development of effective cultures of caring through the building of capacity, capability and collaboration in others
  7. Demonstrated ability to manage complex data relating to nursing sensitive outcomes, and utilise these to measure and enhance improvement
  8. Current NSW Driver’s Licence
