About The Opportunity
Fairfield Hospital is recruiting for a Registered Nurse to complement and enhance the current Emergency Department.

The Emergency Department offers emergency care to the community on a 24 hour basis. The Emergency Department is a level 4 Emergency Department situated within Fairfield Hospital.

The ED offers an orientation programme to all new staff members. This programme provides an introduction to the department be they a novice or a specialist emergency nurse. Competency based orientation is utilized to achieve this as it emphasises the application of knowledge and skills in job performance. Instruction will be delivered through a variety of methods ranging from didactic sessions to one - on- one clinical instruction. It is anticipated that the orientation programme will:

  • Provide a stimulating and meaningful experience, building upon existing knowledge base.
  • Use innovative teaching/ learning approaches
  • Integrate new theoretical concepts with current practices
  • Facilitate the assimilation of the new staff member to the Fairfield Health Service in a process that benefits both the department and the individual.

What you'll be doing
The Registered Nurse will provide safe, compassionate, quality, person centred care and work in collaboration with patients/families/carers and a multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and outcomes.

How to Apply

  1. Demonstrated recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an environment appropriate to the relevant speciality
  2. Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive
  3. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs
  4. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise
  5. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidenced based nursing care
  6. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
