About the role:

Explosive Ordnance Services (EOS) is part of Vehicles and Tactical Systems Country Business Unit. EOS operates 17 depots around Australia to provide a storage, distribution and maintenance service for Explosive Ordnance used by the Australian Defence Force.

The primary focus of our Facilities & Infrastructure Manager is to manage the activities associated with the repair and maintenance programs for activities and assets at standalone facilities (SAF) managed under the EO Services Contract. Review and management of vehicle and forklift leases with an annual review of leasing assets and costs and management of Government Furnished equipment (GFE) used in support of the Storage, Maintenance and Distribution activities within the EO Services business.

  • Assist Regional Managers and Depot Operations Managers to manage all storage facilities, fixed inclusions, surrounds, roads and boundary fences to a standard equivalent of the documented and agreed facilities appraisal
  • Manage Vehicle Fleet, effectiveness and leases (through Thales Australia purchasing department)
  • Coordinate the management of SAF maintenance programs including budgeting and maintaining registers and licences
  • Facilitate by being point of Coordination with Estate and Infrastructure Group (E&IG) for On Base Facilities (OBF’s) for assets and licences
  • Submit Estate Infrastructure Requests (EIR’s) as and when required on Defence Restricted Network, monitor and follow up actions
  • Coordinate the Management of GFE, Provide Condition Reports, maintain register and coordinate audits
  • Participate in ‘On-Call’ activities to support unpredictable events as required.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with key stakeholder groups
  • Support and assist Program Manager in Contract Management Requirements
  • Assist with the implementation of appropriate occupational health and safety policies and procedures in the workplace

How About You?

  • Demonstrated experience within a similar role or (qualification in Finance or Project Management would be beneficial)
  • Previous experience in asset leasing and facilities maintenance would be highly desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels in the organisation
  • Ability to travel to regional sites throughout Australia on a regular basis
  • Knowledge of the Defence industry and/or logistics would be advantageous
