Accor Vacation Club is a holiday and lifestyle program and part of the international Accor group. With team members based in hotels across Australia and New Zealand, as well as a corporate office and sales team, we are proud of our amazing Heartist work culture as well as our stunning offices in Surfers Paradise.

Due to an internal promotion we have an opportunity to join us as Team Leader for the collections team. This team manages the collection of the Club Fees and will lead a small team of two colleagues who actively contact Members regarding payments.

The duties of the role include:

  • Leading the team, motivating and coaching to achieve personal and team goals
  • Providing exceptional customer service to all Members
  • Contacting Members to investigate, identify and negotiate payment collections and creating tailored collection plans
  • Ensuring the team work within the compliance guidelines
  • Setting individual and team targets, holding reviews and team meetings
  • Supporting team member training and development plans
  • Working with other departments to solve queries and improve business efficiencies
  • Handling sensitive cases with regard to hardship
  • Reporting and record keeping

As an experienced Collections Team Leader, you will be used to working in a fast paced environment. Ideally you will have worked in a Members based organisation however, this is not essential. You will also have:

  • Demonstrated collections experience including maintaining a debtors ledger
  • Excellent customer service, active listening, and negotiation skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills including the ability to question effectively to understand
  • Fast and accurate data entry skills
  • Experience with managing hardship requests
  • Proven ability to train collectors in effective collection techniques
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
