Period of Appointment

Appointment to the role is on a fixed term flexible basis (up to 73.5 hours per fortnight) for twelve months.

Duties
  • Support the delivery of front-line legal advice across the full range of the Department’s deliverables on a variety of issues. Where relevant, this may include preliminary preparation of requests for Crown Law advice.
  • Support administrative decision-making pursuant to relevant legislation, including the Right to Information Act 2009, the Vehicle and Traffic (Review of Decisions) Regulations 2010, and the Passenger Transport Services Act 2011, including collating and evaluating information, and drafting routine decisions, correspondence and instructions.
  • Support the delivery of the Department’s primary and secondary legislation program, including monitoring deadlines and providing advice in accordance with the Department’s Legislation Manual.
  • Undertake routine administrative duties, including logging and tracking unit tasks; arranging regular reporting; and supporting the Director as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor degree in law from a recognised tertiary institution.
