We are looking for a journalist to join the team responsible for our commercial advertising features and magazines in Tasmania.

About us

About the role

The position is permanent, full-time, 38 hours a week. The journalist would be based at one of our offices in Tasmania.

We need someone who is a strong writer but who also comes with a strong customer service background, who is a creative and a quick thinker, who can work independently but also collaborate as part of a national network of colleagues.

You will be working closely with the sales teams and our customers to write and produce quality content in a range of features and special publications, that must also attract and satisfy readers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Write, curate and publish content that meets the needs of audiences and advertisers across print and digital platforms.
  • Work closely with sales and customers to achieve commercial goals.
  • Support editorial colleagues and commit to a team working environment.
  • Ensure work health and safety by complying with ACM's policies, guidelines and practices.

Skills and experience:

  • You must be highly skilled in storytelling across print, digital and social media.
  • You must be able to write quickly and accurately.
  • You will be able to suggest new and creative approaches to engaging with our audience.
  • You must have a demonstrated commitment to best-practice journalism and display the highest of ethical standards.
  • You should have a few years' experience with a track record in community-based media. Recent graduates with some experience will also be considered.
