  • Salary range: Level 4, Step 4- $ 35.62 per hour plus 25% loading plus 9.5% superannuation

About the opportunity

The research assistant will support the Legal Research Support Service (LRSS). The LRSS provides dedicated research assistance to Law School staff to finalise or prepare articles for publication.

Under the supervision of a law librarian, research assistants will carry out tasks for Law School academics that may include the following:

  • formatting footnotes, in-text references, or bibliographies according to AGLC or other referencing styles
  • verifying references
  • filling in details of incomplete references
  • proofreading and assisting with editorial changes
  • document formatting (e.g., applying heading styles)

To be considered for this position, you will demonstrate:

  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to accurately follow referencing and formatting guidelines
  • Ability to use research tools for citation verification (e.g. legal databases, library catalogues)
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently and in an organised manner
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Strong academic record
