  • Full-time, fixed-term appointment until 31 December 2021
  • Salary range: Level 6; $83,005 - $87,723 p.a. plus superannuation

About the team

The Student Life Division plays a key role in the shared strategic goal of a world-class student experience. The Student Life Division manages all aspects of the current student support services including, health promotion, wellbeing, equity and accessibility, medical centre, international student support and student accommodation; all student administration services including faculty offices, scholarships, fees and graduations; academic support including STUDYSmarter and student exchange/study abroad; student misconduct and discipline; and other engagement activities including equity outreach, all sport and recreation, career services, work integrated learning programs, collegiate programs and student transition. The area works closely with the Student Guild, affiliated residential colleges and affiliated UWA sport clubs.

About the opportunity

As the appointee you will, under limited supervision, provide senior administrative support in the development of Work Integrated Learning (WIL) placements and programs, in collaboration with colleagues across the Education portfolio and schools. You will coordinate professional placement opportunities for students and undertake the administrative functions associated with an area’s placement program. In addition, you will contribute to other initiatives and lead a key area of WIL administration.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency
  • Substantial relevant senior administrative experience at an appropriate level
  • Demonstrated ability to provide student support and learning and teaching support in a higher education setting
  • Highly developed written, verbal communication skills, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly developed organisational skills and demonstrated ability to coordinate projects, set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in a range of computing skills including electronic records systems, word processing, spread sheets, databases, internet and email
  • Proven ability to liaise and network effectively with a range of professionals and establish effective relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative and work productively in a multi-functional team environment
  • Commitment to providing a high level of quality customer service

About you

This role also requires a high level of organisation and time-management skills, ability to work effectively in a team and independently and ability to prioritise and think on your feet. Moreover, in the current context of the VC reform, the WIL Placement Coordinator will be required to have a capacity to navigate uncertainty and be an active agent in the change management.
