A Coordinator of Transport and Engineering Developments job to oversee Traffic and Transport-related projects within Council, as well as the Infrastructure assets that are required by Property Developers who are delivering residential developments.

Description

As the Coordinator of Transport and Engineering Developments, your role is to oversee Traffic and Transport-related projects within Council, as well as the Infrastructure assets that are required by Property Developers who are delivering residential developments. You'll also be responsible for:

  • Promoting sustainable engineering solutions, by overseeing the development of transport networks, traffic, drainage and infrastructure assets for the benefit of the community.
  • Strategically coordinating the planning and conceptual design of key transport-related projects to meet community needs.
  • Strategically coordinating the engineering requirements for developments within Hobsons Bay City Council, overseeing asset and infrastructure requirements.
  • Preparing funding submissions and proposals to relevant bodies, to maximise Council budgets.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally to Council, to maximise innovation, efficiencies and resources.
  • Management responsibility for 10 plus staff, but with 2 Team Leaders reporting directly into you.

Profile

To be successful in this role, you must share Council's values of delivering outstanding customer-service in a respectful and reliable way. You must also have:

  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing teams, ideally within a Local Council environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing Drainage, Traffic and Transport assets (with Developers who are delivering new properties)
  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing technical construction within a community infrastructure setting
  • Demonstrated experience in budgeting, reporting and financial monitoring for programs of works
  • An ability to look at Council's Infrastructure Assets holistically, remembering that everything is tied in together
  • The ability to dissect Council's strategic objectives, and help the team implement them in an efficient way
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, in order to build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • A great work ethic, as well as an ability to be flexible and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Technical qualifications in Civil Engineering or Transport Planning (additional qualifications in Management would be advantageous, but are not essential)
