Selection criteria

Tertiary qualifications and be a member of the relevant association or registered with the relevant board, in one of the following disciplines: Social Work, Counselling, Occupational Therapy, Psychology. Professions which fall under the Health Professionals State Award (Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Counsellor) who apply must provide evidence of three years clinical experience in their profession and under minimal direct professional supervision. Demonstrated extensive Specialist knowledge and experience in current trends and evidence-based practice in drug and alcohol counselling (including, but not limited to, screening, assessment, brief intervention, case management, contributing to treatment and discharge planning, referral, group work and community follow up). Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical leadership, consultancy and supervision to staff delivering drug and alcohol treatments and interventions. Demonstrated knowledge and application of contemporary human resource management practices including, but not limited to, workplace health and safety, professional and ethical boundaries when working with complex patients, and dispute resolution. Demonstrated experience in liaison and working in partnership with government and non-government services, and community groups. Demonstrated leadership in service development, sustainable implementation and evaluation across multiple sites. Demonstrated high level communication skills, educational skill, advanced written, oral communication and competent computer skills. Valid unrestricted drivers licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment.
