The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Workshop Technician to join the Service Department at our Seven Hills branch.

Reporting to the Leading Hand, the purpose of the role is to carry out maintenance and repairs on mobile equipment and ensure excellent customer service.

The role plays an integral part in ensuring high levels of safety, quality and efficiency are given to the Seven Hills Service Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate an appropriate level of technical understanding specialising in Komatsu Articulated trucks, Dump trucks, Excavators, Loaders & Graders.
  • Carry out machine diagnostics and repairs, as well as testing and adjusting of machine operation and monitoring systems
  • Utilise relevant literature and testing equipment.
  • Ensure all equipment and vehicle inspections are up to date
  • Ensure that timesheets, service reports and relevant documentation are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

The knowledge, skills and abilities we’re looking for:

  • Relevant Trade Certificate in Heavy Vehicle Mobile Plant (Plant Mechanic)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and technical understanding of Komatsu equipment groups
  • Current Driver’s Licence (minimum requirements)
  • Auto Electrical experience, qualifications and diagnostic skills will be highly regarded
  • A demonstrated commitment to safety with the ability to work in remote areas and unsupervised
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and good understanding of computer systems
  • Original Equipment Manufacturer experience, particularly with Komatsu equipment will be highly regarded
