We are at an exciting stage in our evolution and we are looking for a new team member to join our IT team to support our growing business. You will be working closely with our Production team to provide all the support they require. You will have lots of variety and the opportunity to grow your career. Providing technical support services and advice for the business, you will be an experienced Systems Administrator (Level 2) who is also capable of providing desktop support.

The role:

The purpose of the role is to provide IT systems, software and hardware support to all Plastic Wax employees to ensure a seamless operation for the studio, while supporting overall technical goals in partnership with software, R&D and production groups.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Install and configure computer systems, diagnose hardware and software faults and solve technical and application issues
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks, ensuring they run effectively,
  • Respond to IT ticket issues and resolve promptly
  • Set up and disable user accounts and profiles
  • Install and configure computer systems, diagnose hardware and software faults and solve technical and application issues
  • Provide physical support for the movement of equipment and facilities around the studio
  • Set up new hires with user accounts, access profiles, software, licenses, hardware, ensuring ergonomic setup and disable system access for terminating employees
  • Manage and track all IT assets including new hires and terminations
  • Install and test security and software updates and modifications
  • Work collaboratively with team members and share all acquired knowledge concerning problem resolutions with the team

About you:

Ideally, you will have:

  • Qualifications in IT, Electronics, Engineering and/or Media Production
  • Strong network engineering/administratration skills with networking devices such as Procurve, Aruba and Fortigate
  • 5+ years experience in a medium size company
  • Ability to identify, assemble and coordinate digital media and IT systems
  • Knowledge of software/hardware technology used in the production of digital media
  • Experience in supporting complex Networking environments
  • Demonstrated ability to identify faults and find solutions with IT equipment
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills
  • A “can do” attitude and drive to continuously improve
  • Confident knowledge of administration and maintenance of Windows operating systems
  • Knowledge of system security and data backup/recovery
  • Experience with 3D animation/vfx pipeline (desirable)
