Role highlight or mandate: Attractive opportunity for an experienced Production Planner who has an exceptional customer service focus and thrives working in a varied and fast paced environment.

Role Overview
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role would suit a natural high achiever who is confident in taking ownership of all internal and external queries around load production deliveries. You will be tasked by management to work with set strategies to ensure orders are accurately confirmed for necessary production and that the efficient use of resources has been managed.

You will liaise closely with all areas of production and operations to ensure commitments are attainable for all parties and accurately deliver on these commitments. As the first point of contact for all queries you will deliver exceptional customer service via phone and email. You will have the confidence and ability to deal with all levels of staff across internal and external stakeholders, with the majority of your role being focussed on customer confirmations and availability analysis.


  • Monitor customer orders that are potentially problematic to ensure completion and correct loading
  • Ensure all commitments are communicated and agreed by the relevant Managers/ Customers to ensure delivery is met
  • Confirm achievable production tonnes within 24, 48 and 72 hour timeframes prior to delivery
  • Follow up as needed with all teams to expedite flow of materials and documents to meet production schedule
  • Coordinate confirmations to allow for production workflows
  • Ensure accuracy of production plans across customer needs, times requested and load configuration
  • Liaise with the Production Manager around failed deliveries to establish new dates and commitments
  • Monitor incoming orders for data availability ensuring correct decision making to support inventory, production and loading needs

Candidate Profile
You have or are currently working in a similar Production Planner position ideally within the steel, manufacturing or construction industry. You have the ability to build relationships with ease through outstanding communication skills and take pride in your work through an exceptional attention to detail along with strong negotiating and influencing skills. You will have a thorough understanding around quality awareness, load restraint and safe working loads.
