The role

We are searching for a QA professional to join our Merchandise team. If you have strong eye for detail, love working in a dynamic environment and are passionate about team work, this might be the role for you. While leading your successful team, you will be responsible for researching and product compliance, product testing and managing specifications as well as meeting our customers needs.

You will be responsible for:

  • Research and communicate safety and compliance requirements relating to current products, new product categories
  • Partake in product development projects to make certain that safety, and regulatory requirements are recognized and satisfied
  • Take part in Product Quality Risk Assessments projects to spot and quantify safety and compliance risks, and develop mitigation plans
  • Ensure that safety and compliance requirements are met in aspects of a product such as labelling, packaging artwork, and instruction booklets
  • Assist in cost savings and continuous improvement projects to ensure that product safety and compliance is maintained
  • Stay abreast with changes to regulatory and agency requirements, and recommend actions required to maintain compliance of active products
  • Plan and execute ongoing testing and compliance documentation updates for active products
  • Maintain records to support safety and compliance
  • Support the investigation and problem solving for safety or compliance issues
  • Contribute to policies and processes to assure safety and compliance
  • Lead and direct internal product team’s leadership and cross-functional teams on compliance-related issues.
  • Practice all necessary Occupational Health and Safety procedures
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, keeping appropriate files, directories and manuals up to date and ready for reference
  • Additional duties as may be directed from time to time by the GM Exclusive Brands

You will bring

  • Ideally tertiary degree
  • Engineering, mechanical or technical expertise an advantage
  • 3 – 5 years’ proven experience in a compliance officer role.
  • High level of oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly-analytical with strong attention to detail.
  • Need to demonstrated experience in assuring product compliance with regulatory requirements, and knowledge of product development and manufacturing.
  • Should be skilful in data entry and Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel & PowerPoint
  • Occupational Health and safety procedures or techniques.
  • Use of Pronto Business System
