  • Based at our Melbourne Burwood Campus, fixed term contract to the end of September 2021
  • Part-time (0.5) Set days of work: Thursday and Friday each week and every second week, Wednesday/Thursday/Friday (10am-6pm)
  • HEW 4 $64,973 + 17% Superannuation

Reporting to the Team Leader, Simulation Centre, you will be providing technical support to the School of Nursing and Midwifery’s Simulation Centre in addition to administering School resources and facilities.

The role requires excellent problem-solving skills, self-motivation and the ability to work autonomously, exercising your professional judgment and making independent decisions. Your strong analytical mindset, high attention to detail and exceptional written and verbal communication skills will ensure you are a valued member of our positive and collaborative team.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the Simulation Centre Officer in the setup of timetabled classes, ensuring rooms are set up according to the unit requirement and instructions, and all equipment and consumable items are available.
  • Assist with the implementation of procedures and guidelines to ensure that Health Safety and Environment standards are adhered to in the Nursing Simulation Centre and the School of Nursing and Midwifery.
  • Support the administration of the School, assisting with a range of admin tasks to support the student experience.
  • Organise the repair and/or maintenance of equipment.
  • Any other duties as directed, commensurate with the scope and classification of the position.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • An equivalent combination of training and experience or a Post-secondary qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience working within a student practical skills environment in a Simulation or healthcare organisation.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to produce clear and accurate communications that are appropriate for their intended audience.
  • Proven capability to work positively and effectively as part of a collaborative work team, to accommodate and work well with different working styles and to work independently where required.
  • Good knowledge of OHS principles and an understanding of the requirements for safety.
