The Opportunity

We are seeking a hard working Driver to join our close knit team in Townsville.

Your main responsibility in this role would be driving to different sites to collect liquid and regulated waste. You will operate a variety of equipment, including Front Lift and Hook Lift trucks for bins, and Vacuum trucks for oily waste and septic waste collection.

Role information includes:

  • Collecting liquid and regulated waste
  • Disposing of waste at the local disposal sites.
  • Shift is Monday to Friday
  • Permanent full time position
  • $27.00 / hour
  • Townville, QLD
  • Depot facilities include - parking facilities, cook room, lunch room, toilets, showers
  • Working in a friendly, close knit team environment

You’ll need:

  • HR license required
  • Previous waste experience desirable but not essential
  • Forklift license preferred but not essential
  • Good verbal communication
  • Positive Attitude
  • Safety conscious Mindset

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you’ll work closely with a small team, as well as various suppliers and contractors. And you’ll learn from them, as much as they learn from you.

While ‘Operations’ is about process and rhythm, you’ll find plenty of variety in your role. In addition to operating the plant, you’ll play a key role in measuring and reporting the facility’s output, maintaining a robust safety culture and identifying more efficient ways of working that don’t compromise safety or quality.

In this role, you’ll be trained across a number of concrete skills for the job in hand. Many of our Drivers have continued to progress their career with us, moving into supervisor, manager and site manager roles.
