Your new role
The Deputy Head of School is an integral part of the Schools leadership team and has shared accountability, through delegated responsibility, for leadership and management activities including implementation of strategic plans and projects, management of governance, administration and staffing. You will be required to work closely with the Head of School and School Business Manager to ensure academic and strategic success along with effective operational management. A key focus of this role is to provide strong leadership and guidance in all aspects of teaching and research for the schools largest programs in nursing.

In addition, this role has direct line management of our Academic Lecturer and Senior Lecturer staff, overseeing academic workload allocations and teaching commitments.

We are open to applications from (Ahpra) registered practitioners of Nursing, Midwifery, Oral Health and Paramedicine who have an h-index at a minimum of 10 or above.

You will bring to the role

  • A doctoral qualification in relevant discipline.
  • Ahpra registration in applicable field.
  • A demonstrated record of achievement in and commitment to excellence in teaching.
  • Demonstrated achievement in the discipline/field through the scholarly development and delivery of high-quality educational courses.
  • An established record of highly productive research outputs with regular publication in high quality journals, or outputs in other creative outlets, consistent with an international reputation in the field.
  • A significant record of obtaining research income, including nationally competitive research grants and/or fellowships
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in the discipline/profession and in community engagement.
  • Considerable experience and record of providing supervision to HDR students.
  • Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability interact with students and staff with cross cultural sensitivity.
