About - The Opportunity
The successful applicant will be employed by Programmed on an ongoing casual basis working a 38 hour week on day shift (Monday to Friday).


You will be vital team member contributing to daily plant maintenance activities on mobile and stationary plant equipment such as:
* repairs and maintenance, troubleshooting, routine servicing
* calibration of equipment
* arc welding, oxy acetylene welding and cutting in a workshop and field working environment
* strip, inspect, rebuild and/or replace faulty component assemblies and verify correct machine operation
through testing
* Carry out simple diagnosis and component exchange on electrical systems of less than 30V (DC only)
* Carry out repairs on air brake systems for on-track plant machinery
* Complete any necessary records of work performed, machine performance etc

About You
As the ideal candidate to join our maintenance team as a qualified Plant Mechanic, you will:
* Have technical knowledge of heavy and mobile plant and machinery and their associated systems
* Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot a range of different hydraulic/electrical systems and their faults
* Must hold relevant Australian trade qualifications
* Be a safety conscious, team player
* Have attention to detail and commitment to delivering high quality work
* Capable of following instructions and working autonomously as required
* Enjoy working outdoors and in a workshop environment
* Physically fit/agile (able to handle manual labour and move around in tight areas around the machinery and work stations)
* Must hold current Class 1C drivers licence as a minimum
* Be career driven, self-motivated and dedicated
* Demonstrated medium level computer skills and experience in relevant software such as MS Office Suite

All applicants must have full Australian work rights such as birth certificate, passport, citizenship etc and be able to provide two most recent contactable work references.

Must also complete a pre-employment medical (including drug and alcohol test).
